Martina Buchhauser

Martina is a dynamic global leader with a strong background in the automotive industry and procurement/supply chain management, specialising in the transition to electrification and responsible, low-carbon business practices. Adept at navigating diverse cultural landscapes, she held senior roles at leading automotive companies such as General Motors, MAN and BMW, and was Chief Procurement Officer and Member of the Executive Management Team at Volvo Cars. Martina is currently a Senior Advisor at H&Z Management Consulting and a Non-Executive Director in the automotive, metals, and mining industries, helping companies to create positive impact for all stakeholders. At H&Z, Martina co-founded The Procurement Initiative, a think tank that brings together leading procurement experts from business, academia, and management consulting to find innovative solutions to the most significant procurement challenges. With her strategic and practical experience in incorporating sustainability into the daily decision-making and supplier selection process, she co-authored the book “Sustainable Procurement – Leading the Way to a Sustainable Tomorrow”.
